The White House announced on Saturday that it is now conducting a temperature check on someone in close contact with President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence.
White House spokesman Jude Deere said the move is being taken with caution in response to the coronavirus outbreak.
Trump and Pence attended the afternoon news conference at the White House, and Trump said he had his own temperature before talking to reporters.
“It was completely normal,” Trump said. “If it didn’t, I wouldn’t be here.”
Trump has many direct and indirect contacts with people who have tested positive for the pandemic virus. On Friday, he declared a state of emergency as schools and workplaces closed across the country, flights were canceled and Americans showed valor for the war against health hazards.

Trump spent time at his private club in Florida last weekend with at least three people who have now tested positive.
The Brazilian embassy in Washington announced late Friday that Nestor Forster tested positive on the nation’s foursome, Nestor Forester, after sitting at Trump’s dinner table.
Therefore, according to two prominent Republican officials, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro and a man who attended a fundraiser with Trump on Sunday spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss matters of personal health.
Trump has been known to flaunt public health advice – and was eagerly shaking hands during a Friday incident – but admitted that “most likely” will be tested soon.
The White House physician has indicated that Trump’s negotiations were low-risk and testing was not necessary.

A representative of the White House physician’s office on Saturday took the restraint of the members of the media who came to the White House, going to each person and putting the device on their head. A reporter with a dubious height was not allowed in the briefing room for a press conference with the outbreak of Trump and Pence.
Public health officials say individuals with coughs and elevated temperatures of 1004 degrees or higher are understood.
Pence spokesman Katie Miller tweeted that according to the White House Medical Unit, temperatures were taken three times over a 15-minute period and all three were recorded above 1004.
