Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday reiterated his allegation that adequate tests are not being conducted to stop the spread of coronavirus in the country.
On 5 April, he appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to light the lamps and shine the torches.
“India is not doing enough tests to fight the Kovid-19 virus. People clapping and making flashing torches in the sky did not solve the problem, ”Gandhi tweeted.

His party aide and spokesperson Supriya Srinet also urged the central government to empower the states by providing them more finance and resources in their fight against coronaviruses.
He said that the Center should also take the state governments on board while developing a strategy to fight the deadly disease.
“We have talked about cooperative federalism. The time has come that we should go on. The Center should take the states along, empower them by providing them more finance and resources. It is only when the states are competent and when the Center has decentralized, that we can win this war against the coronovirus, ”she said.
The Shrine said that while implementing and executing various policies on the ground, states are at the forefront in the fight against the coronation.
The Congress spokesperson said that the Center should give Rs 1 lakh crore to the states to fight Kovid-19, besides state governments should release the pending GST of Rs 42,000 crore with immediate effect.

Despite the assurances, Shrine said that the GST revenue to be compensated by the central government to the states was not made.
It also demanded to provide loans to the states at 0% interest and urged the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to enable such facilities in consultation with the central government.
