West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee targeted the government for the Citizenship (Amendment) Act or CAA, saying it would not let them (BJP government) take away their rights.
Addressing a rally in Siliguri, Banerjee said, “If we raise the issue of unemployment and starvation, they go to Pakistan.” “I didn’t let them take the rights,” she said.
Banerjee said, “It is a shame that even after 70 years of independence we have to prove our citizenship.”
They are dividing the country in the name of religion, he added, “India is a large country with rich culture and heritage; Why do you regularly compare our nation with Pakistan? ”
He also targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that he behaved like an ambassador of Pakistan. “You are the Prime Minister of India or the Ambassador of Pakistan; Why do you glorify Pakistan on every issue? “Banerjee said.
PM Modi attacked the people protesting against the Congress party and the CAA and questioned why they are not exposing Pakistan. “Pakistan was formed on the basis of religion, religious minorities were being persecuted there. The oppressed were forced to come to India as refugees. But the Congress and its allies do not speak against Pakistan, instead, they are holding rallies against these refugees, ”PM Modi said in Tumkuru, Karnataka on Thursday.
Banerjee said, “Has the Prime Minister forgotten about India that he needs to talk about Pakistan at regular intervals?”
Banerjee also urged other political parties to join them in opposing the CAA. “I am fighting against the national register of citizens and CAA, join hands with me. I am requesting all people to come forward to save our democracy. “
