Bharatiya Janata Party national general secretary Dushyant Gautam said that Trivendra Singh Rawat resigned from the post of Chief Minister of Uttarakhand on Tuesday.
While there is speculation that Rawat was prepared to submit his resignation following the unrest in the party unit in the state that goes to the polls in 2022, the BJP central leadership wants to ease his expulsion from the top job.
Gautam, who was one of the central observers sent to Uttarakhand last week, insisted that the change in leadership in the state should not be read as a sign of his failure as an administrator.
“The party decides who will work where. In his case, because he has the experience and has previously worked at the Center, the party thought it would be more beneficial for the party to work at the central level, ”Gautam said.
However, media reports suggest that Gautam, along with other observers like BJP observer Raman Singh, had heard complaints from party MLAs and other officials in Uttarakhand. Gautam denied that there was any anger against the CM.
In an election year, expectations are high because there are aspirations. No anger against CM; He did a good job and even during the Corona epidemic he ensured that there was no problem in administrative work. ”
The reason for Rawat’s inability to form a relationship with the cadre in the state unit and to address the concerns of the legislators was that he could not retain his job. The slow pace of work, especially as the state was preparing for the upcoming Kumbh, was also listed as a reason for dissatisfaction.
According to a senior party official, Rawat was seen as a center appointee who did not have the support of the party’s majority. The friction between him and the state unit intensified his working style, he repeatedly visited the capital and decided to set up a new division in the summer capital of Gyasen in Uttarakhand.
“There are many examples of friction between state units and CMs. But in this case, he could not make peace.
A former RSS Publicist, Rawat has served as the head of the state unit in Uttarakhand and the state’s agriculture minister.
