Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday reviewed the progress made by the states during the lockdown period to check the spread of coronovirus disease and to assess the supply of essential commodities.
The Center has already given guidelines to allow limited activities after April 20 to uplift the economic sentiment in the country. Partial relaxation of restrictions will allow economic activities to be resumed to an extent and will provide much needed employment to the people especially daily wage earners.
During the meeting, the Home Minister was informed about the steps taken by the Ministry of Home Affairs to provide assistance to the migrant workers trapped in different parts of the country.

Shah also reviewed the functioning of the 24×7 control room set up to monitor the coronovirus epidemic and coordinate with states and union territories.
“The Home Minister reviewed the functioning of the MHA control room and reviewed the COVID-19 status in various states in a meeting with officials.
A Home Ministry spokesman said, “The control room is on 24×7 and is coordinating with various ministries of the states as well as the central government.”

Two of his junior ministers G Kishan Reddy and Nityanand Rai, Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla and other senior officials were present in the meeting.
Earlier in the day, the GOM on Kovid-19, headed by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, discussed ways to reduce the hardships faced by people and the role ministries can play in relieving people.
