New Delhi: The Punjab government on Friday announced that it would extend the coronovirus lockdown by April 30, making Odisha the second state to do so. This decision was taken in the meeting of the Council of Ministers.
Special Chief Secretary KBS Sidhu said in a tweet that the Punjab Cabinet led by Chief Minister Amarinder Singh unanimously approved the extension of the lockdown till April 30. “Extending to 21 days from today. Strict enforcement,” Sidhu said.

Punjab has seen an increase in the number of cases of coronovirus in the last few days, with the total count rising to 132 with 11 lakhs.
Earlier in the day, during a video conference with the media organized by the All India Congress Committee (AICC) from New Delhi, Singh had indicated that his government was thinking seriously about extending the lockdown, as there was no time. Was up Ongoing restrictions.
He also said that the government is exploring ways to get the state out of the sanctions and enable it to work with coronaviruses.
A high-powered committee with several doctors, medical and other experts were investigating the situation and would soon report on the exit strategy from the lockdown.
