Accusing the opposition parties of misleading and provoking people on the CAA and the NPR, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G. Kishan Reddy said that minorities including Hindus and Sikhs from neighboring Pakistan and Bangladesh do not have to go anywhere else, and we need them Should be given citizenship.
“If Hindus and Sikhs (including those from neighboring Pakistan and Bangladesh) do not come to India, where will they go? Italy will not accept Hindus. Italy will not accept Sikhs. They are poor. They cannot go there. It is our moral responsibility to give citizenship to minorities including Hindus and Sikhs in Varanasi as our leaders promised it from time to time, ”Reddy said in Varanasi.
Congress leaders like former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and former home minister P Chidambaram also talked about this, saying that Pakistan has failed to provide security to minorities. “This is the reason why the population of minorities including Hindus and Sikhs in Pakistan decreased.”
He said that India has given more rights to its minorities.
“CAA is not against anyone. It will not affect the citizenship of any Indian. I want to assure all Indian Muslims, all Christians, Sikhs and other minorities that the CAA is not against them. It will not have any impact on the citizenship of any Indian, including Muslims and other minorities, ”Reddy said.
The CAA came into existence after the bill was passed in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. It is therefore unfair to protest against the CAA. The CAA will be implemented across the country.
Asked whether the Center would force the states saying they would not implement the CAA, Reddy said that the CAA is an act and all states have started preparing for its implementation.
Reddy accused the opposition parties, including the Congress and the Samajwadi Party, of misleading the minorities on the CAA and the NPR. He also accused these parties of campaigning which is like a betrayal of the country.
“I want to ask former Congress president Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav why they are misleading people on the CAA?” Why are they doing this? Why did Congress not issue a single line appeal for peace when there was violence during the CAA protest? As former chief minister, was it not the responsibility of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav to appeal for peace? But none of the opposition parties did so.
Reddy said that NPR is a decision taken by the Congress during its rule. He said that NPR and Census are constitutional obligations and no documents are required for NPR and Census.
Reacting to Rahul Gandhi’s statement that the tax would be increased after the implementation of CAA as it happened after GST, Reddy said, “Rahul Gandhi does not know the difference between CAA and GST. He has no knowledge about NPR and NRC.
