After the first case of Years was registered, the state health department on Thursday confirmed that a 76-year-old man from Kalburgi died on Tuesday and tested positive for the disease, which has so far infected 74 people in the country…

The Commissioner of Health Department of Karnataka said, “The 76-year-old man from Kalburgi, who was a patient of COVID-19, passed away, which has been confirmed to be positive for the patient of COVID-19. ”

He said that the administration had started contacting and alienating all those who were in contact before he arrived and before his death. The man was also treated at a hospital in Hyderabad, Telangana.

The man had recently returned from Saudi Arabia and Karnataka authorities until yesterday it was stated that he had not died of coronavirus.

Karnataka minister B Sriramulu had said that the man was suffering from pneumonia, high blood pressure and asthma and the government was waiting for the results of the lab from the National Institute of Virology, Pune before he could die of coronavirus.

However, government officials issued a statement Thursday evening confirming that the death was caused by a coronavirus. Senior State Health Officer Drs. Suresh Shastri said that lab tests confirmed that the deceased person was Kovid 19. This statement was soon retweeted by Minister B Sriramulu.

“Necessary contact tracing, isolation, and other measures are being taken as per protocol,” the release said.

Soon after returning from Saudi Arabia on 29 February, the man’s condition deteriorated and he died on Tuesday night in an ambulance while on his way from Telangana to Karnataka.

The man was first admitted to a hospital in Kalburgi on March 5 for flu-like symptoms and was later taken to a hospital in Hyderabad by his family.

The Telangana government was also briefed about the case to facilitate contact tracing, isolation, and other preventive measures in the state.

Sriramulu on Wednesday said that the District Health Department has taken some precautions for the funeral of the deceased.

The state government suspended a Kalburgi district health officer on the allegation that he had revealed details about the patient, including his name.
