Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said on Friday that while initial results of plasma therapy performed on four Kovid-19 patients have given satisfactory results, such tests will be conducted in the next few days.

Delhi on Tuesday began a trial of plasma therapy for patients with coronovirus disease, in which two individuals receive treatment that uses infection-containing plasma (a blood component) to treat serious patients.

“Initial results of plasma therapy performed on Kovid-19 patients expect more trials to be done in the next 2-3 days,” said CM.

Subsequently, the government will seek Centre’s permission to use the therapy on all serious Kovid-19 patients from across the city, he said.

Kejriwal appealed to those recovering from Kovid-19 to come forward and donate plasma for serious patients.

The test is being done in collaboration with the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences, which will process blood to obtain plasma and store it.
