The opposition Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) on Wednesday alleged that 30 people who tested positive for Kovid-19 died in West Bengal, although the state government said the death toll was only seven.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which emerged as the main opposition of the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) in the state, has also accused the Mamata Banerjee government of suppressing the death toll and misleading the people.

The daily mouthpiece, the Bengali mouthpiece of the CPI-M, cited “sources” in the health administration and stated on its front page that 30 people had died after being infected with coronaviruses in the state. It was told that till April 13, 25 people died and on Tuesday five more people died.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday gave a strict warning about the number of deaths to ‘spread misinformation’.

Without mentioning Ganashakti, he said, “People are citing numbers to make headlines. I warn everyone against doing this because there is a Supreme Court order to stop misinformation and we can take legal action. The number of deaths is being determined by an expert committee and not me. ”

TMC spokesperson Snehasis Chakraborty also accused the CPM and BJP of spreading misinformation to create panic in the public. “The role of CPM and BJP is unheard of,” said Chakraborty.

On Tuesday evening, BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya targeted the state government and reportedly the four bodies were lying in a hospital in the state, but the administration was not saying whether the deaths were caused by Kovid-19.

He tweeted that “4 bodies have been kept in the isolation ward of MR Bangur (Kovid) Hospital, and given the details of four people”.

In another tweet, he wrote: “Are these four bodies kept in MR Bangur Hospital? Did they test for Corona? Did they get treated properly? If these are not deaths, then why are the bodies of the deceased not being handed over? Why were these deaths not reflected in the state’s Kovid Bulletin? ”

BJP IT cell national head Amit Malviya also tweeted criticizing the West Bengal government that the patients’ families had complained that the bodies were rotting in the isolation ward of MR Bangur Hospital, while the state government bulletin said that “last There was no death of Kovid in 48. ” time “.
