Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Kamal Nath on Sunday alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led central government delayed the lock of COVID-19 to form its government in the state.

Nath said, “I resigned on 20 March, but the lockout was announced after Shivraj Singh Chauhan was sworn in as Chief Minister on 23 March.

” Rahul Gandhi had said in February that the coronavirus epidemic would turn into a major problem, but nothing was done then.

“Various state assemblies were adjourned on the Kovid-19 apprehensions, but Parliament continued to run to ensure that our government is gone. It was clear, “Nath said.

He also said that as Chief Minister, he had taken some decisions to check the spread of the disease.

“We had ordered the closure of shopping malls, schools, etc. on March 8, but we took measures keeping in view the seriousness of the situation,” Nath said.

“When the Speaker announced that he was adjourning the House on the Kovid-19 apprehensions, he was made fun of.

Look at what happened later. The whole country was put under lockout,” the Congress leader said.

He said that all the tests are being done in cities and urban centers and not in villages.

“Madhya Pradesh has five states, and 25–30 percent of the state’s population has returned and is living in villages. They are not being tested, what about these people? This is a danger, ”said Nath.

Nath resigned from his post on March 20, hours before the Supreme Court ordered that the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly prove its majority on the floor.

He was heading a minority government after his efforts to recall 23 rebel Congress MLAs, including six ministers who had resigned allegiance to BJP leader and former Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, had failed.
