Prime Minister Narendra Modi today urged people across India to keep candles, lamps and mobile flashlights off on April 5, Sunday, April 9 at 9 pm in a nationwide display of solidarity to fight the darkness of coronavirus.

“April 5, Sunday, 9 pm, I want 9 minutes from all of you. Turn off all the lights in your house, stand on your door or balconies and light candles, diyas (lamps) or mobile flashlights for 9 minutes. ” “PM Modi said in a video message this morning.

“All of us, together, must challenge the darkness spread by the Coronavirus crisis, make it familiar with the power of light. During the lockout, no one is alone. The collective superpower of 130 crore Indians is with every citizen.”

Prime Minister Modi insisted that no one should gather on the streets and be endangered for the fight against the highly contagious virus. “Please do not go on roads, streets or your areas, do it on the doors or balcony of your houses.

No one should ever cross the Lakshman Rekha (boundary) of social distinction. This is the only way to break the chain. Coronovirus The social distinction is to be maintained, ”he said.

In its previous call for a public curfew on Sunday, March 22, gestures of appreciation from coronovirus warriors defeated the purpose of social disturbances when people began to gather on the streets and even take out processions.

“We all must go through this darkness together … The people who are most affected by it are the poor and marginalized. To overcome this darkness, we must all unite to spread the light .. “This darkness of coronovirus should be mixed with light, we all spread,” the Prime Minister Modi said.
