Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday urged the country to abide by the ‘Janata curfew’ on Sunday (22 March) as he addressed the country on government measures to deal with coronavirus.

I am requesting your support for the ‘Janata Curfew’. The curfew will be from 7 am to 9 pm on Sunday, March 22.

“The Prime Minister said that it would be a symbol of self-control,” the Prime Minister said, adding that every person in the country should choose 10 people and inform them – via phone, etc. – about this and urge them to stay House.

He also shared two mantras for dealing with the coronavirus disease Kovid-19, affecting over 2,00,000 people and killing more than 8,000 people. “There are two mantras: willpower and self-control,” the Prime Minister said.

He said that this measure would be of interest “to follow the country and prepare us for future challenges”.

The Prime Minister said that the curfew will not apply to those who are involved in essential services, such as healthcare, media, etc.

Emergency workers are out on the ground who are more likely to be infected but are performing their duties, PM Modi said, acknowledging the contribution of health workers and other such workers.

“I want to thank all these people on 22 March. And the way it is done can unite the citizens, ”he said. Modi said, “At 5 pm, we will thank them by standing at the door or in the balcony for five minutes … clapping … we will encourage them.”

“The whole world is going through a very serious phase. Generally, whenever a natural crisis occurs, it is limited to a few countries or states.

But the outbreak of Coronavirus has put the entire human race in jeopardy, ”Modi said in his 30-minute television address to the nation.

The total number of coronavirus positive cases in India has reached 173. Three people have died – one each from Delhi, Maharashtra, and Karnataka.

Countries around the world have emphasized more drastic measures to prevent pandemic diseases that have now crossed over 2,00,000 cases and more than 8,000 deaths globally.
