Two of the four toppers in the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2019 from Maharashtra are Mumbai-based coaching faculty. Four candidates from Maharashtra scored a full 100 percentile in the examination held on November 24, 2019. This is lower than last year’s figures, with seven candidates in the state scoring 100 percentile. It is the highest among other states.

Thane-based coaching faculty Patrick D’Souza scored 100 percent for the sixth time. D’Souza, who was appearing for the last 16 years to understand the changing pattern of papers, scored 100 percent for the fourth consecutive year. Another faculty from IMS Mumbai, known as Scrabbler or J, also scored an absolute 100. Scrambler is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.

“This was my sixth time getting 100 percent. I took the test to understand how the patterns are changing every year, so I can teach my students accordingly, ”said D’Souza.

This year a total of 10 candidates have scored 100 percent marks in the examination conducted by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kozhikode. All the toppers are male and belong to the Engineering / Technology background. Six of these candidates are from IITs, two are from NITs, and one candidate is from Jadavpur University.

Out of the total candidates scoring 100 percent, 4 candidates are from Maharashtra and the remaining candidates are from six other states of Jharkhand, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal.

Debashis Chatterjee, Director, IIM Kozhikode said, “This year’s CAT exam was one of the easiest exams conducted in recent years. IIM Kozhikode feels privileged and all from all the 20 IIMs for the smooth conduct of CAT 2019 Expresses gratitude to the stakeholders. Take this opportunity to congratulate all the successful candidates and wish them all the best for the remaining stages of the exam. I am. “
