Police said two unidentified militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday, while another anti-terrorist operation was going on in Kupwara.
A police official said that security forces carried out a cordon and search operation in the Dungarpora area of South Kashmir district in the early hours of Saturday, giving specific information about the presence of militants in the area.

He said that while the army was conducting searches in the area, the militants opened fire on them.
The officer said an encounter took place in which two militants were killed.
He said the identity and group affiliation of the killed ultrasound are being ascertained.
Meanwhile, another encounter took place on Saturday in the Handwara area of Kupwara district of North Kashmir.
He said that security forces conducted a search operation in the Chanjmulla area of Handwara on Friday.

Although contact with the militants was established on Saturday evening, the official said that the area was being cordoned off and the operation was underway.
